Public Fountains

Kids love to cool off on hot summer days in the area’s many public fountains. Just be careful. Some surfaces become slippery when wet! (Free, unless noted)

  • Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden – Grant Park, NE 33rd and US Grant Pl.; 503-823-PLAY (7529); www.portlandparks.org. This “garden” of bronze sculptures features fountains in warm months.
  • Blue Lake Park Spray Ground – 20500 NE Marine Dr. 503-797-1850. www.oregonmetro.gov. 3,500 square feet of whimsical and action-packed water gizmos that spray, gush, dump and pour water. Free with admission to park ($4 per car).
  • City Park Fountain – Fifth and Hall, in front of the library, Beaverton.
  • Essential Forces Fountain – South side of the Rose Quarter, NE Portland.
  • Esther Short Park – West Columbia and 8th Sts., Vancouver, Wash.
  • Forecourt and Lovejoy Fountains – Between SW 3rd and 4th, at Market (Forecourt) and Hall (Lovejoy), Portland.
  • Holladay West Park, NE 11th and Holladay
  • Jamison Square Fountain – Between NW Kearney and Johnson and 10th and 11th Avenues, Portland.
  • Rivercrest SprayPark – 131 Park Drive, Beaverton; 503- 657-0891; www.oregoncityparks.org/parksandrecreation/rivercrest-spraypark. The spray park features in-ground and above-ground sprays, water cannons, splash buckets and more.
  • Salmon Street Springs – SW Salmon at Waterfront Park, Portland
  • Skidmore Fountain – SW First Ave. and Ankeny
  • Tualatin Commons – Tualatin-Sherwood Road in Tualatin City Center.
