Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum (and Wings & Waves Waterpark).

Aviation & Space Museum boasts the Spruce Goose, B-17 bomber, Titan II and much more. 9 am to 5 pm daily. Museum: $20 adult, $18 ages 5-16, free ages 0-4. Adjacent Wings & Waves Waterpark boasts 70,000 square feet of water fun and education. Waterpark and H20 Museum open daily 10 am-8 pm; $25 under 42 inches, $30 over 42 inches tall.

Visit the just-finished water area in the Science Playground (for kids ages 0-6) and explore science with H2O fun. BODY WORLDS & The Brain, an exhibit of preserved human body specimens, highlights research on the human brain and performance. Because the bodies are real and without their skin, this exhibit can be scary to little kids, so the museum recommends it for grades 3 and up. Extra charge, tickets timed, open until 9 pm Fri/Sat. Closes March 4. Hands-on learning throughout the museum. 9:30 am-5:30 pm Tues.-Sun. $12 adults, $9 ages 3 to 13 and seniors. Parking $3.

Mark Rothko exhibit, with 45 works, opens Feb. 18. Rothko, who lived in Portland, is one of the leading American artist of the 20th century. The museum is open 10 am-5 pm Tues, Wed and Sat. 10 am-8 pm Thurs and Fri, noon-5 pm Sun. $15 adults, $12 students, free ages 0-17.

Portland Children’s Museum.

A new traveling exhibit, The Wonder of Learning, explores Reggio Emilia learning. Opens Feb. 5. The museum is a hands-on place for kids birth to 10 years old. 9 am-5 pm, Thurs until 8 pm, closed most Mondays. $9 ages 1 and up.

World Forestry Center Discovery Museum.

Masters of the Night: The True Story of Bats exhibit reveals the wonders of the world’s only flying mammal. Runs through May 6. Hands-on exhibits on forests and trees throughout the museum. 10 am-5 pm daily. $8 adults, $5 ages 3 to 18, free 2 and under.
