Sunday Parkways. Portland hosted its first Sunday Parkways event last year – and 15,000 people showed up. This year there will be three Sunday Parkways events. The first one takes place Sunday, June 21 in north Portland. A 7.5-mile loop will be closed to cars for this event that celebrates Portland’s reputation as a walkable and bikeable city. Families can bike, walk, push strollers and enjoy children’s activities, entertainment, music, health information and more along the traffic-free route. 9 am to 4 pm.
