It’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Tomorrow, we’ll celebrate the inauguration of the country’s first African-American president.
I’m sure I’m not the only blogger/opiner to notice the serendipitous juxtaposition.
We are living a highpoint in our nation’s history. I don’t know if our kids (at least those of us who are white) can fully appreciate what this means. But those of us who are middle-aged are reeling because Dr. King’s Dream is coming true.
I’m on deadline today – but I will celebrate tomorrow. I will cry and laugh and scream with joy.
Dr. King is smiling today. So should every American who cares about our future.
