Have you read Corduroy recently?

If you’ve read Corduroy (by Don Freeman) – and most parents have – then you, no doubt, love the story of the little department store bear who goes looking for his missing button (and, eventually, finds a home). On Thursday, Oct. 2, thousands of parents, kids, librarians and teachers around the country will be re-acquainting themselves with Corduroy, hoping to set a world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day (Read for the Record Day). Ten Multnomah County Library branches will host Corduroy readings. Click here for details.

You can attend one of these official Read for the Record Day events – or simply cuddle up with your kids and read your dog-eared copy of this sweet book.
