If you’ve read Corduroy (by Don Freeman) – and most parents have – then you, no doubt, love the story of the little department store bear who goes looking for his missing button (and, eventually, finds a home). On Thursday, Oct. 2, thousands of parents, kids, librarians and teachers around the country will be re-acquainting themselves with Corduroy, hoping to set a world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day (Read for the Record Day).
